<p>PURPOSE:To enable a combustion and a removal of some fine particles only with a thermal energy of exhaust gas by a method wherein a major constituent of crystal phase is of cordylite and an exhaust gas filter is formed by a ceramic containing one kind of specified oxides. CONSTITUTION:The ceramic in which the major constituent of crystal phase is of cordylite and which contains at least one oxide by 5-20wt% selected from oxide of alkaline metal, oxide of alkaline earth metals or oxide of rare earth metals is plasticized, formed to a honeycomb structure, dried and fired so as to make a formed body 1. One end part of the formed body 1 is filled with a ceramic of cordyline in the same manner as above, dried and fired so as to make a desired filter. The filter is formed, for exampel, to a cylindroid to get a filter 11. Around a circumference of the filter 11 is wound a coushion member 12 which is formed by heat-resistant metalic wires compressed to each other, and it is stored in a cylindrical member 14 of heat-resistant metal so as to make a filter device.</p> |
