摘要 <p>The generator uses a 'V' shaped vane exerting a torque on a vertical shaft to set up a torsional vibration which generates electricity by piezoelectric effects in ceramic materials placed around the shaft. The vertical torsion shaft is supported in a vertical column fixed to the ground and held in place by guy wires. The upper part of the shaft is exposed and carries two arms projecting at right angles to the shaft. These arms carry a vertical 'V' section vane with unequal length sides. One support arm carries a mass which by its mass and position can regulate the frequency of vibration. Inside the column projections on the torsion shaft engage slots in a piezo-electric ceramic sleeve, so electricity is generated by the torsional vibration. The generator provides noise-free operation, and is insensitive to freezing weather conditions.</p>
