Acoustic flame controller for cigarette lighter - uses acoustic signal to displace flame from thermocouple controlling flame gas supply

The cigarette lighter has a modified gas outlet B and is ignited when the gas valve (A) is operated. The flame height control (C) is adjusted to centre the flame on the end (D) of a thermocouple. A noise produces alternating pressure waves which act on the flame to extinguish it. The thermocouple element then cools down to release the gas valve and at the same time close a switch to light an electric lamp. Several gas outlets of different cross-section may be used in conjunction with a number of repositioned thermocouple elements (D). This would permit the flame to respond to a musical rythm.
