TIRE AND WHEEL RIM ASSEMBLIES

Tyre and rim combination capable of operating in a substantially deflated condition without becoming respectively dislodged, comprises a circular wheel rim having in cross section a pair of radially outwardly extending flanges and a pair of bead seats adjacent the flanges. Immediately inboard of the bead seats are located a pair of circumf. grooves(15) between which is provided a well for tyre fitting. The beads of a tyre mounted on the rim have radially & axially inwardly extending toe portions(10) of hardness greater than 50o shore which locate in the grooves to provide effective bead locks.
