<p>A clamp for throttling flexible tubing comprises a pair of bars which can be bolted together after pinching the tube. The thrust for pinching the tube is provided by jacks in each of a pair of 'C' pattern jaws which can be coupled together while aligned with the bars. Suitable for stopping gas flow through e.g. polyethylene tubing, by applying compression from opposite sides of the tubing simultaneously, so that the tube deformation is symmetrical relative to its axis. Pref. the position of the tube is controlled by guide hoops supported on arms extending from the clamping frame at right angles to the axis of the pinch bars. The edges of the pinch bars are radiused. The bars and the clamping vice are each readily mounted or dismantled. The clamping vice can pref. accept a range of sizes of pinch bars and tube guides.</p> |
