PURPOSE:To provide a titled mold material provided with various properties suitable as a mold material for continuous casting of steels or the like by subjecting a material contg. Ni, Be, Zr and Mg respectively at prescribed weight ratios and consisting of the balance Cu to solubilizing and aging heat treatments. CONSTITUTION:A novel precipitation hardening type copper alloy consisting of, by weight, 0.2-2.0% Ni, 0.05-0.5% Be, 0.03-0.6% Zr, 0.01-0.1% Mg and the balance Cu is prepd. Thence, this copper alloy is subjected to solubilizing and aging heat treatments, whereby the precipitation hardening type mold material for continuous casting provided with high heat conductivity, high strength at elevated temps. and high toughness is obtained. |
