The measuring device determines the temp. in transport, storage or sales equipment for piece goods to be kept at a particular temp. such as cooled or for frozen foodstuffs. It has a sensor in the working space, heat-insulated from components of the storage equipment etc. The sensor (5) is accommodated inside a solid block (6) at least 1 cm. thick, shielding it from the ambient air. The signal emitted by it can form the actual-value input to a control circuit for a refrigerating compressor etc. The material used for the block can have low heat conductivity and large heat-absorbent capacity.
