PURPOSE:To permit continuous use during replenishing of molten metal, too, and prevent the damaging of a ladle supporting arm by detecting the attainment of the molten metal supplied into a crucible at a prescribed level by a melt level detecting means and moving the ladle upward. CONSTITUTION:When the molten metal in a crucible 22 goes deficient, electrode bars 66, 76 are no longer stuck with the molten metal, and do not conduct. This is detected and the molten metal is replenished into the crucible 22. When the electrode terminal 74 of an electrode bar 70 contacts with the molten metal on increasing of the molten metal replenished into the crucible 22, a closed circuit is formed between the bar 66 and the bar 70, then a rotating and driving source again rotates to turn a driving arm 48 counterclockwise. Hence, when the terminal 74 detaches from the molten metal, the relay is deenergized and the turning operation of the arm 48 ends. Consequently, the molten metal is replenished, and when a ladle supporting arm 34 tries to contact with the molten metal, the bars 66, 70 conduct to move the arm 34 upward, thereby preventing the arm 34, the ladle 44, ctc. from being immersed into the molten metal of high temp. |
