PURPOSE:To prepare a turbine oil composition having excellent oxidation stability, by adding a specific amount of 2,6-di-t-butyl-4-methyl-phenol to a mineral oil having low sulfite-type sulfur content. CONSTITUTION:(A) A mineral oil containing <=100ppm (by weight) of a sulfur of the form of sulfide-type organic sulfur compound is incorporated with (B) 0.1- 1.2wt% (preferably 0.3-0.8wt%) of an oxidation inhibitor consisting of 2,6-di- t-butyl-4-methyl-phenol (DBPC) to obtain the objective turbine oil cmpositon. The combined use of 0.01-0.10wt% (preferably 0.01-0.05wt%) of a phenylnaphthylamine derivative with DBPC is effective to prevent the formation of sludge. |
