The device for trapping vermin such as mice, moles, etc., uses a oail shaped vessel which is sunk into the earth in the region along which the vermin travel regularly. It is fitted with a lid with openings at the ends of a portion projecting upwards, so that they form entrances through which they pass and fall into the container. The remainder of the lid is level with the ground. One design has two pairs of openings at right angles to each other. The openings measure about 8 cm wide.
