A dobby shedding mechanism for a high-speed loom is mounted alongside the heald shafts, and at the same height. The jack levers are attached to heald-operating levers beneath the heald frames by cables, such that a vertical lifting movement of the jacks produces a downward force on the operating levers, to move the healds from the top to the bottom shed position. Springs attached to the other ends of the operating levers return the healds to the top shed position when the jack levers are lowered. This construction eliminates the superstructure above the healds, facilitating servicing of the loom. It also considerably reduces vibration when the loom is operating at high speed. |
