An electronic system for control and/or monitoring tasks (fuel supply and the like) in a motor vehicle comprises a number of digital data processing units such as microcomputers (A, B, C), each of which is synchronised by a particular clock pulse. The clock pulse rates (fc1 ...) of the individual clock pulse generators (32) of the microcomputers have been selected to be offset with respect to one another in such a manner that their higher harmonics falling into an FM broadcast band have a mutual frequency spacing of at least 10 kHz. This reliably prevents interference noise otherwise impairing the broadcast reception. <IMAGE>
