<p>A foil web is supplied parallel to the path of forward movement of the article, a portion of this foil web being arranged underneath the articles. Another portion of the foil web is folded progressively over the articles by guide means, in order to form a common envelope with a part which projects on the side opposite the folding line. Cutting and welding means separate the common envelope into individual bag-like receptacles. Folding means arranged downstream fold the projecting part of each envelope onto the remaining part of the same envelope. Finally, a strip-applying device is located at the end of the path of forward movement of the articles. Thus, starting from a single foil web, each article can be wrapped in a respective envelope which, as required, can be opened and closed again. <IMAGE></p> |
