PRODUCTION OF RESIN BONDED ABRASIVE PRODUCTS

A method of producing resin bonded abrasive products particularly cut-off wheels is described. The method comprises firstly preparing a blend of a suitable abrasive material and a thermosetting resin bond which will soften on heating to a temperature at which the rate of cross-linking is not substantial. The blend is then heated to soften the resin bond and a compaction pressure of less than 3 kg/cm<2> is applied to the softened blend to effect consolidation thereof. The temperature of the blend is then raised to cure the bond and produce the resin bonded product.
