NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R is H or 1-4C alkyl; R' is H or a readily removable protecting group of OH) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. USE:A medicine having prostacyclin-like action, i.e. inhibitory action on the blood platelet agglutination, relaxing action on peripheral arterial smooth muscles and eliminating action on the blood platelet agglutination with good stability. PROCESS:A novel substance expressed by formula I (R3 is a readily removable protecting group of OH) is reacted with bromine in a solvent to give a sulfenyl bromide, which is without purification reacted with a base in a solvent to give a vinyl sulfide compound expressed by formula I (R' is R3). The novel substance expressed by formula II can be synthesized by subjecting a compund expressed by formula III (R1 and R2 are readily removable protecting groups of OH) as a starting meterial to 13 steps of oxidation, reduction protection of the OH groups and through 10 novel intermediates.
