摘要 1309826 Separating oil water and gas MO BIL OIL CORP 10 Aug 1970 [8 Sept 1969] 38376/70 Headings B1D and BIT [Also in Division E1] A system for collection and disposal of subaqueous petroleum-well products includes satellites 12 connected by lines 16 to a manifold 18 whence gas and oil pass through a line 20 to the shore and a riser 22 to a storage vessel 24, respectively. Each satellite receives the produce of at least one well through a line 26 and comprises a shell 76 housing apparatus for separating oil and water from the gas in said produce. The apparatus includes a heat-exchanger within a low-temperature gas and oil separator 32 and a threephase separator, or "knockout section" 38, the water escaping therefrom through a line 40 into the ambient water, a storage tank (not shown), or a line 44 for the oil that has passed from the separator through the heat-exchanger. The gas flows from the separator 38 through a variable choke 48, which regulates the flow and causes condensation of residual liquid as it enters the separator 32. The line 44 and a line 52 for the gas are comprised in the line 16. Glycol, or methanol may be injected through a line 54 to prevent hydrates forming. A "pig" may be injected at 62 to remove any paraffin wax deposited in the line 44. In the separator 38 oil and water gravitates into a compartment 90 whence the oil overflows into a compartment 88 screened from above by a guard 94. Valves 102, 104 are controlled by floats 106, 120. A choke 122 regulates the oil flow. The gas passes through mist extractors 124, 144. A float 150 controls a valve 146. A fail-safe valve 78 adjacent a manually-operated valve 28 is supplied with hydraulic fluid by a pump 80 from a reservoir 166. Level-sensing elements 158, 160 in the separator 32 render the apparatus inoperative in event of the oil surface 82 becoming unduly high or low. The glycol is stored in a reservoir 56. Condensate forming on the exterior of the separator 32 is collected in a sump 164. The separator 32 may be simplified so that the oil and water are not separated from each other. A second embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown), differs in that a secondary heat-exchanger is provided between the lines 26 and 52.
