An alloy, which is suitable for making bearings, comprises, in weight percent: - Pb 3-26 Ti a trace to 1 with optional additions of:- Ca 0-3 Cu 0-1 Mn 0-1 Ni 0-1 Si 0À5-11À3 and Sn 0-6% of the Pb content, the balance, apart from impurities, being Al. The molten alloy is preferably continuously cast by the method disclosed in Patent Specification 1, 164, 116 in order to obtain a homogeneous dispersion of the Pb in the matrix alloy.
