[Also in Divisions G2-G3] A method of making a transparency comprises the steps of producing, xerographically, a latent image on a photoconductive surface, developing the latent image by applying thereto thermoplastic powder particles having a charge opposite to that of the image, applying a transparent film to the photoconductive surface, and heating to soften the particles and cause them to adhere to the film, and further heating the film, under pressure to fuse the particles and fix them to the film. A triacetate film may be used, the softening temperature may be between 90‹ and 95‹ C. and the fusing temperature between 80‹ and 90‹ C. The image may be retouched between the softening and fusing stages, or a multiple image transparency made by applying the method several times to a single transparent film. |
