1345495 Stabilised standard glycerol solutions BOEHRINGER MANNHEIM GmbH 6 Sept 1972 [10 Sept 1971] 41245/72 Heading B1X A standard glycerol solution, of use as a control in analytical determinations relating to glycerol and for the preparation of calibration curves for use in such determinations, is a solution of glycerol in aqueous perchloric acid solution having a normality of from 0.02 to 0.2, for example approximately 0.05, the perchloric acid acting as a stabilising agent for the glycerol. The solution may contain from 1 to 50, for example about 10mg., of glycerol per 100 ml. of solution. The Specification includes data relating to the stability upon storage at a temperature of 33‹C of 5 mg. per cent solutions of glycerol in (i) water, (ii) 0.1 per cent aqueous sodium azide solution and (iii) 0.05 molar aqueous perchloric acid solution. |
