PURPOSE:To make accurate detection of the amount of corrosion due to sulfide corrosive gas and to obtain a sensor being free from disconnection and the like caused by vibrations, etc. and having a large strength, by using the sensor which contains P of 0.1-1.1% and has Cu as a resistor. CONSTITUTION:A wire material is made of Cu-P alloy wherein P of 0.1-1.1wt% is contained and the rest is Cu. When the P content is 0.6%, the velocity of corrosion of the alloy becomes maximum and when it is 1.2% or more the velocity becomes the same with that of Cu. When the P content is 0.6%, the velocity of corrosion becomes eleven times larger than that of Cu alone and the specific resistance of the material becomes about five and a half times larger than that, and, in addition, the strength thereof becomes larger. Since the diameter of a wire may be made four times or more larger than that of a wire made of Cu alone and the uniform thickness thereof may also be obtained through excellent machining property by this constitution, the detector for corrosion due to sulfide corrosive gas wherein disconnection and the like are hard to take place and which is free from an error of measurement and easily be obtained. Accordingly, it is applied to stoppage of operation and to alarming so as to prevent an accident caused by corrosion of parts of machinery and other equipment, such as rotary machines in particular, in textile mills, paper mills or the like. |
