A gas pressure regulator combines a good control characteristic with an efficient damping of the oscillations caused when a large pressure drop occurs. The regulator valve is fitted with a working diaphragm for the valve disc on the valve stem, and a compensation diaphragm. A channel joins the space between the two diaphragms to the outflow end of the valve. A double-acting damping valve in this channel consists of a disc on a stem, spring-loaded on both sides, which can float with a slight clearance in the bore of the central partition of a hollow cylindrical cartridge. |
