The packaging is intended for books, or similar flat articles, and comprises an inner cardboard cover (1) folded over, and an outer protective wrapping of paper or similar material which surrounds the edges of the package. On the opposite open side edges of the cardboard cover, it is closed by two tongues (4,4') on the protective wrapping, one tongue being folded in between the wrapping and the cover, with the other one over the wrapping outside. The third open side of the cover is covered by a folded closure pocket (6).
