PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium which excels in the erasing effect properties, by using a mixture of ferromagnetic alloy powder and ferromagnetic powder having the lower magnetic resistance than that of said alloy powder. CONSTITUTION:To 80-95wt% ferromagnetic alloy powder having about 1.000- 1,500 oersted coerciveforce is added 20-5wt% magnetic powder of Fe3O4, CrO2, etc. containing gamma-Fe2O3, Fe3O4 and Co having about 200-600 oersted (lower than the ferromagnetic alloy powder by 40%). Thus the mixed magnetic powder is obtained. This magnetic powder is mixed with a binder, lubricant, curing agent, solvent, etc. to obtain a magnetic coating material. This coating material is applied on a supporter to obtain a magnetic recording medium. |
