PURPOSE:To prevent the flying of ion onto the cathode face by providing a magnet at the outside of the neck section of a Braun tube in a socket to be set in a color Braun tube during the aging. CONSTITUTION:A socket 6 is set in an external electrode pin of an electron gun 2 arranged in the neck section 1 of a color Braun tube, then high voltage is applied on the cathode 4, third grid electrode 5, etc. of the electron gun 2 to perform the aging. Then a magnet hold cover 8 is provided integrally to the socket 6 while a magnet 7 of approximately 100-300 gauss is provided in the cover 8. Consequently the stray plus ion in the Braun tube will never fly directly to the surface of the cathode 4, thereby the surface of the cathode 4 can be maintained to good and uniform state. |
