Acetals of the formula I <IMAGE> in which R is an alkyl group with 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and R1 and R2 are two alkyl radicals which are different from one another and have 1 to 10 carbon atoms, have attractive, fresh floral scents and can be used as ingredients in perfumery compositions. Preferred compounds are those in which the number of carbon atoms in the radicals R1 and R2 differs by at least three. These acetals can be prepared by conventional processes for making acetals.
