<p>PURPOSE:To save a coolant and a cooler for an adsorber, by compressing gas by a gas compressor, provided to a gas introducing line to a granule layer of activated carbon, in order to cool said activated-carbon granule-layer by an adiabatic expansion of said gas in an activated carbon container, utilizing a high pressure expansion valve and a high-pressure gas-introducing fine tube. CONSTITUTION:Introduced gas is precooled by a heat exchanger 11 and compressed by a gas compressor 8. A pressurized gas pulsation of the compressed and introduced gas is removed in a buffer tank 9; and an adiabatic exapansion of the gas, introduced through a high pressure expansion valve 10 and a gas-introducing high- pressure fine tube 3, is performed in an activated-carbon-containing vessel 1. By this expansion, an activated-carbon-granule layer 2 and waste gas discharged from a discharge pipe 4 through the layer 2 are cooled together, and moreover an effective precooling of introduced gas is performed in a heat exchanger 11. Besides, the vessel is housed closely in a heat insulated container 12 of which the inside is evacuated by a vacuum pump 13 to reduce its internal pressure. Hereupon, a temperature-monitoring thermocouple 7 is inserted into the layer 2.</p> |
