PURPOSE:To improve the picture quality at the time when information is recorded in piles by continuing state of recording for prescribed length of the tape when stop instruction is inputted during recording, thereafter lowering the recording current level of color signal in the period from the time of inputting of stop instruction to the time of stopping. CONSTITUTION:Color signal video signal is inputted from a color record signal input terminal 35 and converted to low frequency by a color record signal level adjuster 31. Luminance signal from a luminance record input terminal 36 is converted to FM signal and recorded on a tape by a video head 34. When a stop switch 24 is pushed temporarily at time t1 during picture recording and the switch 24 is actuated to resume picture recording at time t4, a color signal record level controlling circuit 39 is actuated by the output of the switch 24 to lower color record current level from the adjuster 31 for only the period from the time t1 to the time t4. The lowering of this level is set in the degree that the previously recorded color signal do not remain when signal is newly recorded in piles and is reproduced. |
