Pressure sensitive adhesive tape of the transparent type is marked with visually distinguishable light-reflecting structural markings at uniformly spaced unit intervals along its length in a roll. Light reflected from these markings as the tape is withdrawn from a roll makes the markings readily distinguishable by the naked eye from other portions of the tape not so marked. Thus, the unit interval markings permit a person to measure directly the length of a strip of tape being withdrawn from a roll as it is withdrawn.
