<p>The lockable airtight stopper (4,6) may secure the access opening of a railway tanker which is used to convey pulverised produce in bulk. It uses bolts (7) which are actuated individually by cams (10) and retracted by a recoil mechanism (11). The stopper comprises a plug (4) and a cover (6), the lock fittings (7,10) being mounted on the former (4) in a plane normal to the axis of the seal (1). The cams are actuated simultaneously by a common drive shaft to which an external hand wheel (12) is fixed. The hand wheel may be immobilised in the closure position by a lever which controls a valve in a passage between the interior of the tank and the atmosphere.</p> |
