The process is used to make prefabricated wall panels incorporating masonry in the form of dressed or rough hewn stones. An openwork female matrix is used in conjunction with a mould to locate stones in the path of a press pusher or male matrix. The stones are pushed into a mortar bed and the female matrix apertures may have pre-designated shapes in addition to forming any required panel openings. The male matrix may reciprocate the form of the female, and the mould beneath may incorporate the load-bearing reinforced concrete backing to the panel.
