PURPOSE:To increase the range of display and to reduce the thickness of a display panel by charging a liquid substance between a couple of electrode substrates in a hermetic state and by providing an opaque film for parting on the internal surface of one transparent electrode substrate of the said electrodes. CONSTITUTION:In a timepiece case 1, a twist nematic liquid-crystal display panel 20 is equipped through a housing 5. On the top surface of an upper transparent electrode substrate 26, a polarizing plate 21 is fitted and on the reverse surface of the electrode substrate 26, opaque film 23 and 23 are vapor-deposited. The opaque films 23 include parting films indicating display areas, parting lines for display data, etc. On the reverse surface of each opaque film 23, a transparent insulating layer 24 is vapor-deposited on the top surface of a transparent substrate 27, a common transparent electrode 27a is formed; and an oriented film 29 composed of a transparent insulating layer is formed on the top surface of the electrode 27a. |
