With this proximity limit switch assembly, a box shaped housing may be replaced by a cylindrical housing with a single adjustment for the response distance, whilst the sensor head may be rotated through 90 deg. This is achieved by a simple plug and socket arrangement. The cylindrical housing (1,10) has pins (7) which plug into corresp. sockets (5) in a rotating disc (3) in the box shaped clamp (18) which consists of two halves (12,16). One section of this housing is formed by the sensor head (10) which may be rotated through 90 deg.
