Recovery of waste, from pressurised steam condensate - by flashing off steam in flash tank and recondensing by contact with water

Waste heat is recovered from hot pressurised steam condensate in a distn. process by directing the condensate to a flash tank maintained at a pressure less than that of the condensate. Steam is flashed off as condensate pressure is reduced and is recondensed by contact with water obtd. from a heat exchanger used in the distn. process. The condensate-water mixt. is collected in the flash tank and then pumped to a mixing tank for a steam boiler water system. Condensate from steam heated reboilers and warm water from water cooled condensers which would ordinarily be discharged to storm sewers is recycled to recover waste heat.
