PURPOSE:To decrease the access time and to obtain the high recording density, by securing the independent variation for the magnetic resistance between plural auxiliary magnetic poles and a common magnetic pole connected to these auxiliary magnetic poles in terms of each auxiliary magnetic pole. CONSTITUTION:Plural auxiliary magnetic poles 11 are bonded on a substrate 12 of a nonmagnetic material. These poles 11 are connected to a common magnetic pole 13 made of a high-permeability material via a piezoelectric material 14 which expands and contracts toward thickness with the electric field. Then the voltage is appled between the pole 13 and an optional pole 11 to produce the electric field toward the thickness of the material 14. Thus the thickness of the material 14 is varied to vary the magneric resistance of a magnetic circuit. As a result, the magnetic flux that passes through the pole 11 is varied. The magnetic flux originated from the pole 13 goes toward a main magnetic pole 1 via the desired material 14 and pole 11 to return to the pole 13 via a free space 15. In such way, one of the poles 11 can be selected as a recordable head by an energizing coil 18. |
