The support system is for panelled walling which has textile-type material stretched across it, for insulation or other purposes. This involves a resilient stretcher batten (10), anchorable in joint gaps (25) between two panels (23). Along this, at prescribed intervals, there are retaining claws (11), with a fitting walling piece, (15), adapted to the configuration of panel sides bounding the joints, with the batten sinking into them. The batten may be clipped into the claws. The batten can be U-shaped, with protruding locking stem pieces on the outsides of its arms engaged by inward claw protrusions.
