PURPOSE:To reduce the overall thickness of a rotary magnetic head device, by providing a recessed part at the center part of a rotary disk and setting one of the two bearings supporting a rotary shaft into the recessed part in order to reduce the space between these bearings. CONSTITUTION:A recessed part 23a is provided at the center of a rotary disk 23, and a projected part 27a extending up to the position near the part 23a is provided to a lower cylinder 27. An upper bearing 28 is set at the part 27a. As a result, the span between the upper and lower bearings can be increased without increasing the overall height of the cylinder. Thus the thickness of the cylinder can be reduced while securing the space between the necessary bearings. At the same time, the scanning of a tape is possible with high accuracy. |
