<p>PURPOSE:To sharply improve processing speeds, by simultaneously searching words to be retrieved in one of which top letter is a small letter and in the other of which top letter is a capital letter, in a text. CONSTITUTION:When words to be searched are detected, a gate circuit 16 is controlled by using V bit as 1 so at to input contents of a search register 10 to a small letter to large letter converting mechanism 12. Then, search words and words to be searched are read in the register 10 and a register for words to be searched 11, respectively. The search words and the words to be searched are compared at a comparator 13 under the same condition, and, at the same time, search word commenced with a capital letter is compared with a word to be searched at another comparator 14. When it is discriminated by discrimination circuit 15 that both do not coincide to each other as the result of comparison by the circuits 13 and 14, the detecting operation for the next words to be searched is commenced. When a coincidence is confirmed at any one of the comparators, a detected mark is set to the word.</p> |
