Process for the production of a transfer paper which can be used for sketching patterns or transferring drawings to support materials (substrate materials), for example paper, fabric (canvas) and the like, which can immediately be removed (erased) again with water, in which, by chemical reaction of cobalt sulphate with calcium thiocyanate and water, cobalt thiocyanate crystals are produced, these are added together with waxes to a non-ionic activator with formation of a water-soluble or dispersible solution having hydrophilic properties towards water, to produce a wax colour this solution is mixed and thoroughly kneaded with a solid solution prepared by addition of the cobalt thiocyanate crystals to a separate activator, one or both surfaces of a support material (substrate material), such as e.g. paper, fabric (canvas) or the like, is coated with the wax colour with heating in order to make the wax melt, and the coated support material (substrate material) obtained in this way is cooled with the formation of a transfer paper which produces the desired chemical and physical reactions.
