Electromagnetically operated protective switch - has contact carrier with parts made of harder material, to give combined heat resistance and strength

The contact carrier (10) mounted on top of a magnetic armature (11) of an electromagnetically operated protective switch has a base (10) made of thermoplastics material. An upper part has openings (14 to 17) covered with frames (18 to 21) of harder plastics material, holding the contacts. The two central frames (19,20) can be larger than the outer frames, and incorporate cross members (22,23), forming double frames. The use of two materials is intended to combine good heat resistant properties with sufficient strength to withstand vibration and shock under operating conditions. The base incorporates lugs (12,13) for mounting on the armature. Locking devices are incorporated inside to hold the sections together.
