In skittle erecting systems with skittles fixed on cords, the cords stretch after a certain period of operation. In order to be able to compensate for this, the cord stock drums (6) can be twisted somewhat from time to time in the winding-up direction of rotation by a drive mechanism. This is achieved by a double toothed coupling (36, 40; 60, 66). A belt drive (22, 23, 24) connected to the chain drive drives a toothed wheel (44). This engages with a coupling toothed wheel (36), but not until, by means of an electromagnet (48), a cam disc (40) connected thereto and an untoothed sector (A) have been displaced and teeth of this coupling toothed wheel (36) have been moved into the engagement position. The shaft (38) connected to the latter in a manner proof against rotation drives, via a toothed segment, the cord stock drum (6) through a partial rotation in the winding-up direction of the cord. <IMAGE>
