An electronic ignition control device for an internal combustion engine of the asymmetric type, particularly for motor vehicles, the device being of the type including a generator (1) for triggering ignition signals, a voltage step-up coil (22) having a primary winding (24) connected in series with an electronic switch (25), a secondary winding (23) connected consecutively to the ignition plugs selected by an ignition distributor (4), a voltage value comparator element (30) and external resistive and capacitive elements (10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19) supplying a monolithic circuit (5) producing a constant energy spark at the electrodes of the plug selected by the ignition distributor (4), having means (50, 51, 52, 53) for the signals from the generator (1) for triggering ignition signals, characterized in that it includes means (55, 56, 57, 58, 59) for identifying the angular value of successive ignition triggering cycles including a first capacitor (55) of which the value of the charge is a function of the angular value of successive ignition cycles ; means (60, 61, 62) for discharging said first capacitor (55) before each cycle identification, memorising means (63, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68) for the potential V1 of one of the plates of said first capacitor (55), which means include a second capacitor (68) for memorising the potential V1 ; means (69, 71) determining the mean value V2 of the difference in potential existing across the second capacitor (68) during the successive cycles of ignition triggering signals, a comparator (70) which, by means of a resistor (72) and as a function of the level of the voltages V1 and V2 applied to its inputs, delivers a signal for the shift of the commencement of charging of the voltage step-up coil (22) to the monolithic circuit (5) controlling the triggering of the constant energy spark at the electrodes of the plug selected by the ignition distributor. |
