PURPOSE:To prevent poisoning and explosion accidents that would be resulted from leakage of gas and a fire accident that would be caused by earthquake, by automatically cutting off a passage of gas when leakage of gas or earthquake occurs. CONSTITUTION:In the burning state of a burner, if the flames are put out by some cause, and the gas starts to leak, a sensor of a sensing apparatus 4 detects it to actuate a solenoid 50 so that the retention of opening of a valve is released, a valve rod 15 is pushed against a compression spring 18, and the valve is closed to prevent the leakage of the gas. When earthquake has occurred, a sensing apparatus 5 senses it. Accompanied with the vibrations a ball 68 moves like a pendulum to become in contact with a conductive plate 70 and to close a switch, and therefore a solenoid 50 of a retention releasing electromagnetic mechanism 3 is energized, so that similary to the sensing apparatus 4, a normally closed type shut-off valve mechanism 1 operates. |
