NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula or its salt. USE:An antimicrobial agent effective against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, and micoplasma, and preventive and remedy for diseases of animals. PROCESS:Mycinamicin III is reduced with sodium borohydride in an inert organic solvent such as a mixture of ethanol and methanol. The reaction liquid is poured into water, and extracted with a non-hydrophilic organic solvent such as ethyl acetate. The extract liquid is washed with water, and dried under reduced pressure. The residue is purified by column chromatography using silica gel, etc. as an adsorbent to obtain the objective compound of formula. |
