PURPOSE:To detect knocking on any operation condition by comparing the square root of a forecasted error, obtained from a predetermined linear forecasting constant corresponding to knocking, with the averaged signal of an original signal. CONSTITUTION:An engine-body detection signal from a vibration sensor is supplied directly to a forecasted-error arithmetic part 10 and an original signal smoothing part 12 without being passed through a BPF. The arithmetic part 10 finds forecasted vibrations from linear forecasting constants A1-Ap predetermined to knocking and a linear forecasted error is outputted from an adder B. Delay times of delay circuits D1-Dp are conformed with sampling for the determination of forecasted constants to set clock pulses phi1 and phi2. A forecasted-error smoothing part 11 finds the square root of a forecasted error and the resulting signal is inputted to a discrimination part 13 for arithmetic F using the averaged signal of original vibrations from the smoothing part 12. This normalized signal is compared by a comparator G with a prescribed reference voltage signal H to discriminate accurate knocking and detection precision in a high-speed and high-load operation range is improved. |
