PURPOSE:To improve edge line property, the accuracy of the right angle of the edge and the flatness of the roof faces, shorten the polishing time per piece and eliminate the consumption of the jig by composing a plane out of two unpolished faces and polishing them by each other. CONSTITUTION:Two pieces of the pentagonal roof prisms are set to make coincide each other the two important edge lines X1, X2 which are formed by the roof faces A1, A2 and the roof faces B1, B2 respectively. A couple of the roof faces of both prisms A2 and B1 are contacted and other couple of the roof faces A1 and B2 are made to form one plane, and these prisms are held securely by the clamping jig and said plane is polished. The edge lines X1, X2 do not come out as the corner part, though these exist on said plane and accuracy of right angle of the edge angles theta1, theta2 is assured. Next, the edge lines X1, X2 being made coincide, the face A1 and the face B2 are contacted and these are polished as one plane. |
