PURPOSE:To prevent the slag in a ladle from flowing out into a tundish by detecting the end time of the molten metal teeming from the ladle from the change in the amount of the molten metal in the tundish and ending the teeming at the time of teeming the molten metal from the ladle into the tundish. CONSTITUTION:The amount of casting determined with an arithmetic apparatus 9 and the amount of the molen metal in a tundish 4 by an arithmetic apparatus 10 are subtracted from the amount of the molten metal initially contained in a ladle 1 determined by a computing mechanism 8, and the amount of the molten metal in the ladle 1 is calculated. The amount of the remaining molten metal is converted to the head of the molten metal in the ladle 1 from the shape signal of the ladle 1. When the molten metal head attains the value adding a safety constant to a final target value, a signal for making casting speed constant by opening a teeming nozzle 2 is transmitted to a degree of opering 3, whereby the rate of teeming is increased. Next, the molten metal head of the ladle 1 decreases, the rate of teeming goes less than the amount of casting, and the amount of the molten metal in the tundish 4 decreases. When the amount of the molten metal in the tundish attains a peak point and where its decrease is confirmed, the nozzle 2 is fully closed to end the teeming. |
