PURPOSE:To obtain mixer for carrying out stirring, mixing and other similar treatments of materials effectively and homogeneously by rigidly placing an annular body in a slightly spaced relation to the outside periphery of a rotor which has the shape of a truncated cone and is rotated at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:The annular body 7 is rigidly placed in the slightly spaced relation to the outside periphery of the rotor 5 which has the shape of a truncated cone and is fixed to a lower part of a vertical shaft 4. When the rotor 5 is rotated at a high speed by driving a morot 3, a liquid flows upward from the lower surface of the rotor 5 through the gap between the annular body 7 and the rotor 5, then it reaches the lower surface of a diffusing plate 11 which is fixed to the shaft 4 above the rotor 5 and is also rotated, and the liquid is further diffused outwardly. Accordingly, the liquid is stirred and mixed effectively by the shearing force generated at the gap between the rotor 5 and the annular body 7. |
