PURPOSE:To obtain a foaming photographic material having high sensitivity and high operational efficiency and giving a colored image with high contrast to the ground from a negative original by forming a photosensitive foaming layer contg. diazonium salt as a principal component on a colored layer with a transparent resin layer in-between. CONSTITUTION:On a colored layer 3 consisting of a colorant such as dye or pigment and a binder on a support 1 or on a colored layer 1' which doubles as a support such as a colored film a transparent resin layer 4 is laid by applying and drying a transparent resin soln. or by a lamination method. On the layer 4 a photosensitive layer 2 is formed by adding diazonium salt to transparent resin with 8.6X10<-16>- 8X10<-10>cc.cm/cm.sec.cmHg N2 permeability by 1-20% of the amount of the layer 2. A negative image film is brought into contact with the layer 2 of the resulting foaming photographic material and exposed. The material is then allowed to stand in a thermostat at 30-40 deg.C for 1min, uniformly exposed, and heated to 120-140 deg.C to whiten the exposed part by foaming. Thus, a colored nonfoamed positive image with high contrast to the white foamed part as the background is obtd. at the nonexposed part. |
