Compounds of the formula <IMAGE> wherein X and Y are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen and trifluoromethyl, are disclosed. The compounds are useful as intermediates in the production of 2-benzazepines, compounds of pharmacological activity. Also disclosed are other intermediates and processes for their production.
