PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF ALCOHOL

Alcohol preparation from grain is described, in which the fat degradation and the saccharification of the mash is carried out in two separate steps with an intermediate filtration. In the first step the wet-milled grain is degraded with amylolytic enzyme, then filtered, and the protein and fibercontaining filter cake used directly or dried as fodder material. The filtrate is then treated to an acid and/or enzymatic saccharification and used without further filtration in the fermentation.
